TSAWWASSEN, B.C. – In response to the scarcity of land in our cities, this home was designed to showcase how rooftops can be used to accommodate a diversity of activities and uses – gardens, relaxation, reflection. Working from the existing garage and home foundations, this courtyard home was created to integrate indoor and outdoor space above and at grade. Bridges and ladders connect rooftop spaces, while the overall form maximizes sunlight both inside and outside. Geothermal heating and healthy, natural materials were used throughout the home.
